Last Videos of Titanic Sub Unveiled: ‘Terrified’ Passenger Knew ‘Something’s About to Happen’, Viewers Claim

A video shared on TikTok showed the last moment the submarine that descended to the Titanic wreckage was last seen.

The selfie footage showed the moment the submarine, which has been named Titan, started its doomed voyage. Days later, the vessel has not yet been found.

Abbi Jackson, an employee of Polar Prince, which is the company onboard the mothership, shared a short video showing the submarine a distance away from the ship’s deck.

The 22-year-old, who is a videographer, captioned the post, “Watching a submarine go down to the Titanic.”

In another short video, Jackson photographed Paul Henri Nargeolet, one of the submarine’s passengers sitting on the side of an inflatable boat.

Nargeolet has been nicknamed Mr. Titanic because he has visited the Titanic’s wreckage 37 times. In the video Jackson shared, Nargeolet, 77, could be seen smiling and waving at the camera.

TikTok users who saw the video of Nargeolet before he and the rest of the crew got into the submarine and started their voyage said the researcher looked “scared.”

A TikToker suggested that Nargeolet “Knew not to go into that submarine,” and an online user added, “He looks uneasy about this time.”

One Tiktoker said, “He honestly looks terrified…like he knows something’s about to happen,” while another person agreed, “He does look nervous.”

An individual noted that Nargeolet looked like he was about to cry, while another person said, “He does seem a bit unsettled.”

However, a sonar expert, Jeff Karson, Professor Emeritus of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Syracuse University, dismissed the sounds as “wishful thinking.”

Miss Jackson asked online users to pray for the five on board the Titan submarine when news emerged about the disappeared sub. She thanked well-wishers for their concern about the people who remain missing under the Atlantic.

The Missing Titanic Submarine May Run Out of Oxygen

According to the US Coast Guard, the oxygen on the missing submarine was expected to run out at 7:08 a.m. US Eastern time, which is 12.08 p.m. GMT, 9.08 p.m. Sydney.

Rescue efforts are ongoing to find the five people trapped onboard as so far, the rescue team hasn’t found the submarine.

The vessel lost communication with the mothership on June 18, 2023. Before it lost contact, the submarine was 435 miles south of St John’s, Newfoundland, en route to the Titanic shipwreck off the coast of Canada.

Apart from Nargeolet, the other people on board are British billionaire Hamish Harding, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood.

On June 20, 2023, the US Navy and a Canadian P3 search detected banging noises coming underwater, which gave people hope that the sounds could be coming from the submarine.

However, a sonar expert, Jeff Karson, Professor Emeritus of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Syracuse University, dismissed the sounds as “wishful thinking.” He noted that the unidentified sound may not be coming from the submarine:

“There’s no telling where the sound is coming from or how far away it is. Personally, I’m worried that sound may be coming from something that’s far from where they need to be looking.”

Still, Karson said if the sounds are the best lead the rescue team has, then they just have to follow it, as everybody is doing the best they can to find the five Titan passengers alive
